Robert has a technical diploma in municipal engineering and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering. He spent five years with the City of Calgary as a Municipal Engineer. Robert started Kanas in 1996 and has grown it into the innovative company it is today, uniquely positioned to develop, construct and manage affordable multi-family homes.
Joanne Sipka, B.Comm
Vice President
Joanne has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Haskayne School of Business in Calgary and 25 years of experience in business negotiations and team leadership. Joanne has been involved in Kanas' growth and development since its inception.
John Harrop, Architect AAA, MBA
VP Development and Design
John has over 25 years’ experience in the consulting, development and construction industries across Canada and in Europe. He has been involved with all aspects of the development process from design, planning and financing to construction, closeout, sales and leasing. He has worked in both the private and not-for-profit housing sectors.
Jason Whitfield, M.A
General Manager
Jason received an Honors in Bachelor of Environment and Resource Studies in 1999 and a Master of Arts in Planning in 2001. Jason has 15 years experience in planning, development and construction. His background includes six years of experience with insulated concrete form construction prior to Kanas.
